About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Manager to join our team at Durpro Workforce Solutions in Durban. This is a hands-on role requiring a strong understanding of upholstery materials and quality control processes, where you will be responsible for ensuring our in-line and final product checks are rigorously followed, and that only the finest furniture leaves our facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out and oversee quality inspections throughout the production process, including in-line and final checks.
- Ensure adherence to internal quality standards and customer specifications.
- Work closely with production teams to identify, record, and resolve defects or quality issues.
- Train and mentor two junior QC staff, ensuring consistent performance and development.
- Liaise with the QC Manager to identify trends and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate quality records and inspection reports.
- Provide practical support on the shop floor and contribute to a team-wide commitment to excellence.
Requirements
- Proven experience in quality control
- Experience with leather and fabric upholstery furniture is advantageous
- Meticulous eye for detail and the ability to spot inconsistencies quickly
- Practical, hands-on approach with a calm, decisive mindset
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with production, design, and management teams
