Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the audit and accounting department
  • Manage and mentor a team of 5–7 SAICA trainees
  • Review and sign off annual financial statements
  • Ensure deadlines and budgets are met
  • Maintain high levels of accuracy, quality control, and attention to detail
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Assist clients with practical financial and business-related solutions
  • Review trainee assessments and ensure timely sign-offs
  • Identify and resolve issues proactively before escalation
  • Provide ongoing coaching, training, and development to junior staff
  • Report directly to the Director

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Completed CTA
  • AGA(SA) registered or eligible to register shortly preferred
  • Candidates currently pursuing CA(SA) qualification will also be considered

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ post-articles experience
  • Completed SAICA articles, preferably within a smaller audit firm
  • Minimum 1 year management or team leadership experience
  • Strong technical accounting and auditing skills
  • Previous experience signing off financial statements will be highly advantageous
