About the Role
The Junior Upholsterer & Furniture Technician plays a vital role in assisting senior technicians to deliver high-quality workmanship and efficient turnaround times at PMP Contractors (Pty) Ltd. This position involves hands-on technical work, supporting on-site repairs, and maintaining a clean working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with stripping, repairing, and reupholstering office chairs and furniture
- Cut, measure, and fit fabric, leather, and foam materials
- Replace worn or damaged components such as foam, webbing, and mechanisms
- Support furniture assembly and disassembly
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean working environment
- Follow job cards and instructions accurately
- Ensure all work meets company quality standards
- Assist with on-site repairs when required
Requirements
Basic knowledge of upholstery or furniture repair (advantageous)
Willingness to learn and develop technical skills
Good attention to detail
Ability to work with hand tools and machinery
Physically fit and able to handle manual work
Reliable and punctual
Qualifications
No formal qualifications are required for this role. However, a basic understanding of upholstery or furniture repair is an advantage.
