Introduction Harmony Gold Mine is seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Driver Light Duty Vehicle to join our Engineering Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transport of personnel, materials, and equipment to support daily operations and meet organizational objectives. Operating under surface (including open pit) or applicable underground conditions, the role requires basic short-term planning and strict adherence to mine safety regulations and company policies. Min Requirements: Candidates must meet the following minimum criteria to be considered: Minimum Grade 12 qualification. Valid Driver’s License (Code B or EB, depending on the specific vehicle type). Valid Professional Driver’s Permit (PrDP) if required to transport 12 or more people. Valid Medical Certificate of Fitness. Valid First Aid Certificate. Proficiency in the English language. Ability to pass the Dover Assessment, training, assessments, and practical evaluations. A cleared record of previous criminal offenses or traffic violations. Relevant Certificate of Competency (where applicable). Job Description Summary: Reporting directly to the Foreman, the incumbent will execute routine transport duties and basic vehicle maintenance. Key responsibilities include: Safely driving a light duty vehicle (less than 3.5 tons) to transport people, material, and equipment in accordance with the Mines Health and Safety Act (MHSA), Road Ordinance, and company procedures. Performing pre-use inspections, conducting basic maintenance (e.g., checking fluid levels and tire pressure), and ensuring the vehicle is clean and serviceable. Completing trip-sheet logbooks, reporting defects, and returning the vehicle to designated parking areas after shifts. Reacting immediately to instrument warnings, applying emergency procedures, and actively participating in hazard identification and risk assessments to achieve zero harm. Collaborating cordially with team members and communicating daily vehicle status and log details to the supervisor.
