Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support to maintenance and production teams to maximise plant availability and reliability.
- Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.
- Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects, including equipment upgrades, installations, and plant modifications.
- Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Manage contractors and service providers during maintenance shutdowns and project activities.
- Prepare technical specifications, scopes of work, and engineering reports.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to optimise operational efficiency.
- Support capital expenditure projects from concept through commissioning.
Minimum Requirements
- BEng/BSc Mechanical Engineering degree.
- Registered as an ECSA Candidate Engineer or Professional Engineer will be advantageous.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a manufacturing, paper, pulp, packaging, FMCG, or heavy industrial environment.
- Experience with rotating equipment, pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance management principles and reliability engineering.
- Experience in project management and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems.
