About the Role
The Nelson Mandela University is seeking an Associate Lecturer Economics for our Extended Programme at the George Campus. The successful candidate will be responsible for orientating and lecturing undergraduate students, providing academic support, handling administrative duties, and participating in various engagement initiatives both internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate learning and teaching of Extended Economics modules (ECO10X1/2; ECO1X1/2; and ECC201)
- Academic administration pertaining to the listed modules on the extended programme
- Contribute to curriculum development on the extended programme
- Provide academic support pertaining to the listed modules
- Coordinate the relevant functions pertaining to the marketing of the extended programme
- Work collaboratively with other departmental heads and members of the School of Economics, Development & Tourism
Requirements
- A sound knowledge in the theory and application of Economics principles
- A sound knowledge in the application of Econometrics
- Ability to facilitate learning at undergraduate levels
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to administer modules involving large numbers of students
- Ability to identify students requiring academic support and to provide the necessary assistance
