Grabouw: Vehicle Workshop and Transport Foreman

Key Responsibilities Develop and manage planned maintenance schedules to minimise breakdowns and downtime. Ensure that vehicle breakdowns are attended to promptly. Oversee repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance on trucks, forklifts and other diesel-powered vehicles. Conduct quality checks on repaired vehicles. Manage workshop staff and monitor performance. Coordinate transport-related activities and ensure smooth daily operations. Monitor spare-parts availability and assist with procurement. Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised workshop. Assist with budgeting, monitor costs and identify opportunities for cost savings. Safeguard company vehicles, tools, equipment and workshop assets. Minimum Requirements Qualified diesel mechanic with a completed trade test. At least 5 years post-trade-test experience. 35 years workshop management or supervisory experience. Strong technical knowledge of trucks, forklifts and other diesel vehicles. Computer literacy. Valid drivers licence. A Code EC licence with a valid PDP or a forklift licence will be advantageous. Procurement experience. Willingness to work extended hours when required. Medically fit to perform the duties associated with the position.
