Hermanus: Workshop Assistant

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workshop Assistant to join our team in Hermanus, Western Cape. As a key member of our workshop team, you will be responsible for assisting mechanics with day-to-day workshop work and vehicle handling, while also carrying out basic mechanical tasks with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting mechanics with day-to-day workshop work and vehicle handling
• Carrying out basic mechanical tasks with minimal supervision
• Doing basic inspections and identifying common vehicle components
• Keeping the workshop clean, organised, and safe at all times
• Following workshop procedures and safety standards
• Ensuring tasks are completed properly and on time

Requirements

• 34 years of experience in a similar workshop environment
• Red Seal qualification or relevant trade qualification (advantageous)
• Strong attention to detail
• Good time management and ability to stay on track
• Ability to work independently without constant instruction
• Clean and organised way of working
• Proactive mindset, with the ability to take initiative
