About the Role

As a data analyst in our Johannesburg office, you will play a crucial role in extracting insights from complex data sets and translating them into actionable recommendations for business growth. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports, ensuring seamless integration of data from multiple sources.

Key Responsibilities

Extract, clean, and analyze data using SQL and other tools
Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI
Translate business requirements into actionable insights
Support the implementation and maintenance of MDM processes
Ensure consistency and integrity of key data domains (customer, product, vendor)
Assist in defining and implementing data quality rules and metrics
Monitor and report on data quality issues and support remediation efforts
Collaborate with IT and business teams to integrate data from multiple sources
Support ETL processes and ensure seamless data flow across systems
Document data definitions, processes, and workflows
Work with stakeholders to understand data needs and provide analytical support

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
1 year of experience in a data analyst or similar role
Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation
Experience with Power BI for dashboard creation and data visualization
Understanding of Master Data Management principles and tools
Familiarity with Data Quality (DQ) rule implementation and monitoring
Experience with data integration and ETL processes
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and documentation abilities

Qualifications (Advantageous)

Certification in Power BI or SQL
Experience with Python for data analysis
Knowledge of data governance frameworks
Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and data lakes
