Johannesburg: Forensic Investigator (Senior & Intermediate) posted by Century Technical Solutions

Job Description

Runs full-scale fraud and corruption investigations end to end – from reviewing the allegation through to a court-ready report and post-investigation support. This ad covers 6 positions in total: 3 Senior Forensic Investigators and 3 Intermediate Forensic Investigators to carry the casework. The role reports to the Forensic Investigations Project Lead. Key responsibilities: Investigate allegations of fraud, corruption and irregularity reported through multiple channels. Review supporting documents and compile investigation plans. Conduct interviews with relevant sources and witnesses. Collect, analyse and preserve evidence in line with the law of evidence. Conduct background searches on the subjects, individuals and entities under investigation. Apply the relevant legislation, rules, policies and procedures. Compile affidavits and take statements. Liaise with law enforcement agencies using a multidisciplinary approach. Produce detailed forensic reports with sound conclusions and recommendations. Provide post-investigation support at disciplinary, criminal and civil proceedings. SENIOR FORENSIC INVESTIGATORS (3 positions) Qualification: Degree or National Diploma in Forensic Investigation, Policing, Law, Forensic Accounting or a related field. Registration / certification: Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and/or ICFP membership; registered with PSIRA (legally required for private investigation work in South Africa). Minimum experience: 6 years conducting fraud, corruption and irregularity investigations. INTERMEDIATE FORENSIC INVESTIGATORS (3 positions) Qualification: Degree or National Diploma in Forensic Investigation, Policing, Law, Forensic Accounting or a related field. Registration / certification: PSIRA registration required; CFE and/or ICFP membership an advantage. Minimum experience: 2-4 years conducting fraud, corruption and irregularity investigations. Skills & competencies (all positions): Investigative interviewing and evidence handling Affidavit and statement drafting Clear, defensible report writing Working knowledge of PRECCA, PFMA and the law of evidence Advantageous: Background with SAPS, the Hawks, SIU or similar; experience testifying in disciplinary or criminal matters.
