Johannesburg: FP&A Analyst – CA(SA)

Job Description

This FP&A Analyst role forms part of the Group Finance function and plays a key role in supporting financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and analysis across a complex, multi-entity environment. The current landscape is highly data-intensive and evolving meaning youll be at the forefront of improving reporting accuracy, enhancing processes, and supporting the transition from manual workarounds to a more automated, data-driven future. Key Responsibilities: Support budgeting and forecasting processes across multiple business units Consolidate financial data and perform variance analysis against budgets and forecasts Prepare and enhance monthly management reporting packs and financial models Analyze financial performance and provide insight into trends and key drivers Work extensively with large and complex datasets , ensuring accuracy, completeness, and integrity Improve and automate reporting processes using advanced Excel tools (Macros/VBA, Power Query) Support financial system implementation, including data mapping, testing, and validation Assist with financial modelling, scenario analysis, and business case development Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to drive data-driven decision-making Job Experience and Skills Required: Qualified CA(SA) 13 years post-articles experience in FP&A, management accounting, or financial analysis Strong data experience (this is non-negotiable, you should be comfortable working with large datasets and transforming them into insight) Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data models and yes, we will ask about them) Experience with automation tools (Macros/VBA, Power Query) Exposure to financial modelling and reporting High attention to detail and strong analytical ability Big 4 Articles with 1st time board exam passes. Advantageous: Power BI or other reporting/BI tools Basic SQL knowledge Experience in system implementations or multi-entity environments Competency Requirements: Strong analytical thinking and curiosity Ability to translate data into meaningful insights Excellent collaboration and stakeholder engagement High level of accountability and attention to detail Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment A healthy respect (and perhaps slight obsession) with clean, reliable data Apply now.
