Our client, a well-established organisation operating within the financial services industry, is seeking to employ a Junior Compliance Officer to join their team based in Houghton Estate, Johannesburg.

Requirements

  • LLB / BA Law / BCom Law
  • Admitted Attorney
  • RE5
  • Some experience with civil litigation will be an advantage
  • Some experience in regulatory compliance, legal support or audit services
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good organisational, time management and problem-solving skills
  • Excel and Word skills
  • Interest in using relevant AI tools effectively
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Conduct independent internal audits and identify issues throughout the company
  • Assist with preparation for external audits (all departments)
  • Assist with training preparation
  • Assist with drafting and reviewing policies
  • Assist with drafting policy wording
  • Assist with document version control
  • Meeting administrative deadlines and sending reminders
  • Assist with legislative screening, monitoring and requests (FICA, POPIA, PAIA, TCF)
  • Assist with Portal Management
  • Assist with administration required for management meetings and compliance
  • Assist with interpreting and investigating reports from the Quality Assurance Department
  • Assist with complaints (all departments) the candidate must understand legal processes
  • Assist with due diligence reports
