Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 3–7 years’ experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Platform Engineering, or a similar role.
- Proven experience working within financial services, banking, fintech, or other highly regulated environments, with exposure to mobile money platforms being advantageous.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and highly available infrastructure and application environments.
Technical Competencies
- Strong hands-on experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, and Azure DevOps.
- Solid Linux/Unix system administration and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience administering and supporting SAS platforms, preferably SAS Anti-Money Laundering (AML) solutions or SAS Viya environments.
- Proficiency in containerisation and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Bash, Python, PowerShell, or similar technologies.
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and ARM templates.
- Familiarity with enterprise monitoring, logging, and observability platforms, including Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, or equivalent solutions.
- Sound understanding of networking concepts, APIs, system integrations, and enterprise architecture principles.
- Experience working with database technologies, including administration, performance optimisation, and troubleshooting.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience supporting M-Pesa or other mobile financial services platforms.
- Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML), fraud detection, financial crime prevention systems, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Proven experience supporting SAS solutions within production and mission-critical environments.
- Exposure to microservices architectures, container-native applications, and event-driven systems.
- Relevant cloud certifications in Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
