About the Role

The Assistant Electrician role at our client’s facility in Mitchells Plain is a critical position that requires a skilled and experienced individual to manage medical equipment installation, commissioning, and maintenance. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring patient safety, inventory management, and maintaining equipment availability.

Key Responsibilities

Installation and commissioning of medical equipment
Maintain medical equipment
Execute planned, preventative and reactive / corrective maintenance requirements and activities
Assessment (visual inspections) of medical equipment
Ensuring patient safety at all times
Inventory management
Maintain availability of medical equipment
Conduct first line maintenance
Assist/supervise subject matter experts on site
Execute the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule of the medical equipment
Maintenance of the equipment must be recorded and linked to the assets
Self-performed and sub contracted services must both be captured for all the assets

Requirements

Grade 12
Min 2-year maintenance working experience in a built environment
Good comprehension of English / Afrikaans language
Code B Drivers License
People and Management Skill
Multi skilled
Good people skills
Practical work experience
Hands-on person
Ability to plan, organize and control own work effort
Understand and follow oral and written instructions
Well-motivated
Able to work independently
Ability to prioritize tasks
