About the Role
The Assistant Electrician role at our client’s facility in Mitchells Plain is a critical position that requires a skilled and experienced individual to manage medical equipment installation, commissioning, and maintenance. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring patient safety, inventory management, and maintaining equipment availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation and commissioning of medical equipment
- Maintain medical equipment
- Execute planned, preventative and reactive / corrective maintenance requirements and activities
- Assessment (visual inspections) of medical equipment
- Ensuring patient safety at all times
- Inventory management
- Maintain availability of medical equipment
- Conduct first line maintenance
- Assist/supervise subject matter experts on site
- Execute the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule of the medical equipment
- Maintenance of the equipment must be recorded and linked to the assets
- Self-performed and sub contracted services must both be captured for all the assets
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Min 2-year maintenance working experience in a built environment
- Good comprehension of English / Afrikaans language
- Code B Drivers License
- People and Management Skill
- Multi skilled
- Good people skills
- Practical work experience
- Hands-on person
- Ability to plan, organize and control own work effort
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions
