About the Role
The Modimolle: Rumminants Technical Advisor will play a crucial role in driving sales growth, improving farm viability, and expanding customer bases for our region. This position requires a strong technical expertise in animal nutrition and forage production to achieve annual budgets and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement quarterly articles on rumminant nutrition and forage production
- Monitor product performance and gather monthly production figures from species-specific feedlots and supplemented farms
- Participate in study groups and trade shows to stay updated on industry trends and best practices
- Provide technical sales support to customers, including understanding principles of animal nutrition and fundamentals of forage production
- Expand and service existing customer bases while developing new business opportunities
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of animal nutrition and forage production principles
- Understanding of dryland and irrigated pastures, as well as other forage crops
- Excellent communication and sales skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture (B Agric) or related field (B.Sc. Agric)
- 3-year Agricultural diploma
- Valid Code 08/EB driver’s license
- Eligible for SACNASP registration
- Professional Natural Scientist certification
