About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Night Manager to join our team at The Vineyard Hotel in Newlands, Cape Town. As a leader with a passion for service excellence, you will play a crucial role in creating an exceptional guest experience while maintaining high standards and meeting financial goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor the activities of all employees on the night shift, ensuring they adhere to standards and guidelines.
  • Direct and oversee hotel operations during the night shift to ensure guest satisfaction and safety.
  • Conduct briefings for staff during the night shift and act as manager on duty in the absence of management.
  • Participate in decision-making processes regarding guest relocation when overbooked.
  • Execute smooth relocation processes and monitor team member performance through supervision, scheduling, training, counselling, evaluations, and recognition and reward.
  • Accurately complete daily night audits, balance reconciliations, and oversee the preparation and accuracy of Daily Revenue Reports.
  • Assist the Front Office Manager in implementing and enforcing financial controls throughout the department.

Requirements

  • Matric Certificate
  • Hospitality qualification from a recognised South African or International Educational Institution
  • 5 years’ experience as a Front Office/ Night Manager in a busy, high-demand environment with leadership experience
  • Strong room division and food and beverage operational background
