Job Description

Key Responsibilities Industrial Relations & Labour Law Represent the company at conciliations and arbitrations Handle unfair dismissal and unfair labour practice disputes Investigate labour disputes and ensure legislative compliance Conduct IR risk assessments and recommend corrective actions Train management on: Disciplinary procedures Grievance procedures Poor performance processes Incapacity procedures Promote dispute resolution through mediation, conciliation, and advisory services Submit monthly IR reports to management Advise within communication structures such as ERC HR & Employee Relations Manage grievances (formal and informal) Initiate and chair disciplinary hearings Conduct recruitment and selection processes Draft appointment and termination letters Handle employee queries relating to salaries, benefits, and employment matters Investigate absenteeism and verify sick notes Manage performance appraisals Oversee Employment Equity and Skills Development programmes Manage EAP programme Control manpower in line with approved manpower structures Assist with wage bill management Compliance & Administration Ensure compliance with labour legislation Maintain and update company procedures and policies Ensure compliance with ISO requirements Ensure departmental housekeeping standards Maintain health, safety, and environmental compliance Attend to ad hoc HR and IR projects as required Minimum Requirements Qualification in Labour Law Certificate in Dispute Resolution Practice Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation Experience representing companies at: CCMA MEIBC Centre for Dispute Resolution Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to chair disciplinary hearings and handle grievances HR generalist experience advantageous
