About the Role
Our client, a respected financial services provider specializing in Healthy Home Insurance, is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Short-Term Claims Consultant to join their dynamic team in Pretoria. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing the full end-to-end claims journey, ensuring accurate capture and processing within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full end-to-end claims journey, including registration, assessment, validation, and settlement.
- Act as a professional and empathetic point of contact for clients, gathering necessary documentation, explaining processes clearly, providing regular updates, and escalating complex or disputed claims to the Team Leader when necessary.
- Verify claim validity by reviewing documentation and conducting investigations, collaborating with assessors and experts to determine accurate damages/costs, while proactively identifying and reporting potential fraud or suspicious activity.
- Work closely with third-party service providers (assessors, repairers) to facilitate swift claims resolutions, and collaborate with your team to improve internal processes.
- Ensure all claims handling practices consistently align with company policies, industry regulations, and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles, preparing and submitting claims reports to the Team Leader as required.
Requirements
- Matric Certificate
- RE5 Regulatory Examination certificate
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in short-term insurance claims processing (specifically focusing on building and content)
- Prior experience within the insurance or financial services industry is essential
