About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Plumber to join our team at Merand Corbett & Associates. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair, as well as excellent communication skills and a commitment to health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems and fixtures
- Conduct inspections of plumbing and drainage systems
- Repair leaks, blocked drains, taps, sanitary systems, sinks, and water supply lines
- Carry out emergency repairs and preventative maintenance
- Test plumbing systems for safety, functionality, and compliance
- Prepare cost estimates and select suitable materials for repairs and installations
- Monitor and inspect work completed by the Assistant Plumber
- Work closely with contractors and maintenance teams
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and act as Health & Safety Representative
- Maintain ongoing communication with supervisors regarding maintenance progress and issues
Requirements
- Matric
- Relevant Plumbing qualification
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a Plumber within a company environment
- Previous experience as a Health & Safety Representative with knowledge of the OHS Act is essential
- Team leader / supervisory experience advantageous
- MS Office literacy advantageous
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English (spoken and written)
- Physically fit and comfortable working in confined spaces and moving between facilities
