About the Role
The purpose of the Armed Security Officer position is to ensure the safety of personnel, property and assets by preventing security breaches, detecting potential risks and responding to incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that only authorised persons are granted access to site
- Conduct patrols within the premises to check for suspicious activity, unlocked doors, or safety hazards
- Conduct general surveillance to identify unusual or risky behaviour
- Respond to emergencies as required – respond to fires, medical emergencies, or security breaches, and initiating evacuation procedures if needed
- Compile incident reports, as required
Requirements
- Relevant experience in security or law enforcement
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Physical fitness and ability to handle emergency situations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid security clearance (if applicable)
Qualifications
- Formal education in a related field (e.g. security management, criminology)
- Relevant certifications (e.g. security guard training, first aid certification)
- Police clearance certificate (if required by the employer)
