About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Material Buyer to join our team in Cape Town City Centre, responsible for planning and executing raw materials for our manufacturing and distribution operations. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership and influencing skills, with experience in procurement and supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Ensure that stock holding is managed as per policy.
- Run daily shortage report.
- Run requisition report.
- Place orders according to daily shortage & purchase requisition report.
- Weekly run purchase requisitions look 3 months ahead place orders with suppliers.
- Review MOQ and safety stock, investigate possible alternatives and lead time to suit supplier requirements.
- Communicate supply issues that could be potential risk to production planners.
- Supplier meetings to discuss performance, potential new business, and forecast.
- Interact with 3rd party transporters on stock to be collected for site.
- Interact with accounts department.
- Health and Safety: Review non-conformances and report to Food Safety Manager.
- Ensure high levels of safety and hygiene by promoting and monitoring programmes.
- Maintain suitable security measures to ensure optimum information, people, and property conservation.
