Candidate Requirements:
- Formal culinary qualification
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie in a 4/5-star lodge or hotel
- Strong leadership and kitchen management skills
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and consistency in food preparation
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety standards
Candidate Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations
- Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all dishes
- Supervise and support junior kitchen staff
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and minimising wastage
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards
- Step into a leadership role in the absence of the Head Chef
Package details:
- 7% company contribution to provident fund and 50% medical aid subsidy (capped at R1,800, effective from month 4)
- Three meals per day provided (balanced, seven-day rotational menu)
- Access to staff recreation centre (pool, games room, and fully equipped gym)
- Covered parking and staff transport provided
- 21/7 work cycle with 21 days annual leave
