About the Role
Hire Resolve’s client, a reputable Mining company, is seeking a Cost Controller to join their team in Phalaborwa, Limpopo. As a Cost Controller, you will be responsible for monitoring project costs, analyzing financial data, and ensuring that projects are within budget and on schedule. You will collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve cost control processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Updating cash flow forecasts for all the engineering disciplines utilizing input from the various project engineers and cash flow reporting for individual VIP capital projects.
- Measuring, analysing and reporting on the financial status of projects to Clients and the Project Engineers in reports and in meetings.
- Implementing improvements to the accuracy of forecasts and associated cost control measures.
- Maintaining SAP and managing SAP workflow for projects.
- Maintaining the Capital Register and monitoring and reporting against the capital plan.
- SAP Super User for Projects – identifying and motivating improvements within the capital projects systems and processes, scoping of requirements, testing of changes, training of users.
- Interaction with the project stakeholders during the project lifecycle.
- Managing the month end and year end functions for projects.
- Monitoring of compliance to procedures.
- Setting up and calculating CPI, SPI and Project Contingencies.
- Adherence to SHEQ standards and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Computer literate (MS Office, SAP).
- Working knowledge of CO and FI modules of SAP (advantageous).
- Membership registration with CIMA or SAICA would be advantageous.
- Five years cost controlling experience in a project environment.
- Experience in mining environment and business evaluation background would be advantageous.
