About the Role

Our client, a provider of professional food service equipment, is seeking a Junior Accountant to join their growing team in Cape Town City Centre. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to develop their skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Process all accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
Perform daily bank imports and bank reconciliations.
Manage petty cash transactions and records.
Reconcile and process credit card transactions.
Load weekly payments via Paysoft.
Capture a limited number of non-stock invoices and perform monthly creditors reconciliations.
Process credit notes and ensure accurate allocation to customer accounts.
Scan, save, and file import documentation; develop a working knowledge of the import process.
Perform various administrative support tasks as required.
Provide backup support to the Debtors Clerk and Receptionist during periods of absence, including taking over their responsibilities as needed.
Assist and support the Financial Manager in day-to-day tasks and ad hoc duties.

Requirements

Reputable tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting.
3 years of work experience as a Junior Accountant.
Experience in cloud accounting software such as Xero.
Solid understanding of accounting principles.
Proficient in MS Office.
Familiar with a collaborative team environment.
Adaptability and the ability to use initiative.
