About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our team based in Kenilworth, Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our accounting practice, you will be responsible for providing administrative support and assisting with financial tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review financial statements and reports
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using Caseware and Pastel
  • Complete tax returns and other financial documents as required

Requirements

  • BCom Degree completed
  • Completed articles with a CA(SA) firm
  • Knowledge of Caseware and Pastel

Qualifications

  • Formal education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (BCom)

About the Role

A leading global creative group based in Cape Town is seeking a Junior Accountant to support our Finance team and agency partners. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and smooth day-to-day accounting operations across the group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure transactions are technically compliant and aligned with group policies
  • Prepare month-end reports, including: Bank, intercompany & balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepayments and accruals schedules
  • Fixed asset register updates & journals
  • General ledger reviews and postings
  • Assist with: Monthly management accounts Budget analysis BAS, Payroll Tax & FBT submissions
  • Handle intercompany invoicing and reconciliations
  • Support Group (MC Plc) reporting requests
  • Ad hoc finance support to the Senior Accountant

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting (Honours/Postgrad beneficial)
  • 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • ERP experience essential (Spectra PF / BCC advantageous)

About the Role

We are seeking a Junior Accountant to join our team in Cape Town City Centre, where you will be responsible for capturing and processing supplier invoices, reconciling creditor and supplier accounts, and performing daily Accounts Receivable functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capture and process supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy against purchase orders
  • Reconcile creditor and supplier accounts to statement
  • Ensure timely payments and adherence to AP ageing targets

  • Process and reconcile petty cash in line with company policy

  • Support debtor activities, including accrued income and WIP reporting
  • Analyse expense accounts to understand cost drivers and variances

  • Solid foundation in accounting principles and reconciliations
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within a commercial finance environment

Qualifications

Completed SAIPA articles or relevant accounting degree with approximately 3 years experience
