Johannesburg: Credit Investment Portfolio Manager

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly analytical finance professional to join a specialist investment team focused on distressed credit solutions, portfolio acquisitions, and innovative structured finance transactions. This role offers exposure to high-impact investment decisions, sophisticated financial modelling, and the opportunity to work closely with senior executives in evaluating and executing credit investment opportunities. Key Responsibilities: Build and maintain advanced financial models, including DCF valuations, scenario analysis, sensitivity testing, and stress testing. Develop comprehensive investment cases, business cases, valuation reports, and investment committee presentations. Analyse distressed credit portfolios and identify attractive investment opportunities. Conduct due diligence, data validation, and financial analysis across potential transactions. Support the structuring and execution of credit investment transactions from inception through implementation. Assess the impact of proposed credit solutions on client financial statements and capital positions. Monitor portfolio performance post-transaction and provide ongoing reporting and recommendations. Collaborate with investment, legal, compliance, finance, and operational teams to deliver tailored client solutions. Perform market research and industry analysis within the distressed debt and credit investment sectors. Minimum Requirements: CA(SA), CFA, or BCom Honours in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Investments, or a related field. 24 years’ experience in: Investment analysis Financial modelling Credit or loan portfolio analysis Corporate finance Investment banking Distressed debt or structured finance environments Strong understanding of credit risk principles and financial statement analysis. Knowledge of IFRS 9, Basel frameworks, or related credit regulations will be advantageous. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential. Strong PowerPoint and report-writing abilities. Exposure to Power BI, SQL, or other analytical tools will be beneficial.
