Role Purpose
The Senior Business Analyst (BA) acts as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams on large, high-risk, and complex projects. The role is responsible for understanding organisational challenges, identifying opportunities, and recommending solutions that enable the organisation to achieve its strategic objectives.
The Senior BA facilitates communication across organisational units, ensures alignment between business needs and IT capabilities, and plays a central role in translating requirements into actionable solutions.
Key Responsibilities Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Serve as the primary liaison between stakeholders, business units, and IT teams.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across multiple organisational levels.
- Facilitate workshops, meetings, and discussions to gather and validate requirements.
- Translate complex business needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements.
Business Analysis & Requirements Management
- Elicit, analyse, document, and validate business and system requirements.
- Perform gap analysis between current and future states.
- Ensure requirements are aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements.
- Manage requirement changes and ensure traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
Solution Design & Recommendation
- Recommend practical, scalable solutions to address business needs and challenges.
- Collaborate with solution architects and technical teams to ensure feasibility.
- Support the design of business processes, systems, and operating models.
Process Analysis & Improvement
- Analyse existing business processes to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
- Design and document optimised processes aligned with organisational goals.
- Advocate for continuous improvement and best practices.
Project Delivery Support
- Work on multiple initiatives concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
- Support Agile delivery teams (e.g., Scrum) through backlog refinement, sprint planning, and reviews.
- Ensure alignment between delivered solutions and business expectations.
Leadership & Mentorship
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior BAs.
- Lead analysis efforts on complex projects.
- Contribute to developing BA standards, tools, and methodologies.
Minimum Requirements

Experience:
- Minimum 10+ years experience as a Business Analyst.
- Proven experience working on large, complex, high-risk projects.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple initiatives concurrently.

Industry Experience:
- Banking and/or Credit experience (preferred).

Technical & Functional Skills:
- Strong requirements elicitation and analysis skills.
- Process modelling and analysis experience.
- Familiarity with Agile tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
- Strong understanding of IT systems and solution delivery.
Preferred Skills & Competencies
- Process analysis and optimisation expertise.
- Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written).
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
