About the Role
A Commis Chef position is available at an upmarket Restaurant in Rosebank, Johannesburg North. We are seeking a motivated and ambitious individual with relevant chef/kitchen management experience to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for food preparation, general kitchen management, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items to high standards
- Manage kitchen operations, including stock control and health & safety protocols
- Assist in menu planning and development
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Work collaboratively with the culinary team to achieve restaurant goals
Requirements
- 2+ years relevant chef/kitchen management experience
- Experience with al a carte menus
- Good all-round cooking skills
- Knowledge of stock control and kitchen health & safety procedures
Qualifications
Formal qualification in Culinary Arts or related field is an advantage.
Salary & Benefits
Gross salary R 7 – 9 K per annum.
