About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Product Sales Manager to lead our product sales strategy in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth, maintaining gross margins, and expanding into new market segments. This is a critical role that requires strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of success in capital equipment sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a product sales strategy within the first six months
  • Achieve annual order intake targets while sustaining gross margins above 20%
  • Maintain an active, qualified pipeline at no less than 3× the annual sales target
  • Identify and pursue new market segments and customer opportunities with structured engagement plans
  • Compile high-quality technical proposals and tenders, incorporating value-selling methodology and accurate costings
  • Conduct site assessments and technical audits across key projects
  • Facilitate test work programs from planning through to completion and reporting
  • Liaise directly with process engineers, mine planners, consultants, and project houses
  • Ensure complete and accurate project handovers to the project management team
  • Maintain CRM accuracy with all active opportunities, forecasts, and value pitches updated weekly

Requirements

  • 58 years of engineering sales experience in the mining or process equipment environment
  • Proven capital equipment sales record into the mining and minerals processing markets
  • Specific experience with mineral separation equipment, preference given to candidates with knowledge of jigs, UCC, DMS, or sensor sorting
  • Solid understanding of plant design and operations sufficient to engage credibly at process engineering level
  • Experience managing complex capital tenders including negotiation, legal terms, risk assessment, and performance guarantees
  • Proven budgeting and financial modelling capability
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
