About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Sales & Factory Manager to join our team in Montague Gardens, Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales and business development within the baking industry, with a proven track record of building and maintaining client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow the Cape Town market for dry baking products, premixes, speciality bread mixes, and pan oils
  • Source and secure new business opportunities within the bakery industry
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing bakery clients
  • Achieve monthly sales targets and business development objectives
  • Conduct customer visits, product presentations, and product trials
  • Work closely with the test baker regarding product support and demonstrations
  • Manage stock control, ordering of raw materials and finished products
  • Oversee dispatch and basic warehouse operations
  • Supervise branch staff, including the driver and general worker
  • Ensure efficient day-to-day branch operations
  • Provide excellent customer service and technical product support

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ sales experience within the baking industry
  • Previous experience selling bakery ingredients, dry mixes, premixes, pan oils, or related baking products
  • Strong external sales and business development experience
  • Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships within the bakery sector
  • Experience introducing and growing FMCG food products within the market
  • Ability to conduct product demonstrations and customer trials
  • Knowledge of stock control, ordering, dispatch, and warehouse operations
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a small branch operation
  • Valid driver’s licence essential
  • Computer literate
