Pretoria: Junior Project Engineer

About the Role

The Junior Project Engineer role is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team in Pretoria. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for assisting in the design, development, and implementation of energy project solutions for industrial, commercial, and mining clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, development, and implementation of energy project solutions for industrial, commercial, and mining clients.
  • Interpret energy consumption analysis reports and identify optimization that need to be monitored.
  • Report on results and propose interventions based on findings.
  • Develop PFD and P&ID plans using Visio software.
  • Develop site layout plans.
  • Carry out site visits/audits on regular intervals.
  • Operate, maintain, and fault find existing project infrastructure to ensure system functionality and project performance.
  • Manage contractor administration and supervision on site.
  • Develop quality assurance plans and implement them.
  • Develop operational and maintenance procedures based on the unique features of each project.
  • Provide project management services for the execution of approved projects and monitor their performance post implementation.
  • Assist with managing site activities and overseeing subcontractors where necessary.
  • Ensure that health and safety procedures and standards are implemented and maintained.

Requirements

  • Competence in planning/scheduling and design engineering activities.
  • Development/design/specify material and equipment/piping competence.
  • Compilation of cost estimations, proposals, tendering documentation, and vendor selection experience.
  • Site inspections and supervision experience, including underground mining sites (highly recommended).
  • Contractor administration experience.
  • Commissioning and operation of equipment expertise.
  • Project coordination and administration skills.

Qualifications

  • BSc/BEng Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree or higher (non-negotiable).
