Efficiency Staffing Solutions (Pty) Ltd Registration No. 2022/876857/07 Job Advert Duties & Responsibilities Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner. Assist customers with payment-related queries and provide accurate information where required. Ensure a positive customer experience by maintaining a helpful and approachable attitude. Cash Handling and Payments: Process cash, card, and electronic payments accurately. Issue receipts and ensure all transactions are recorded correctly. Balance cash register at the beginning and end of each shift. Report any cash shortages, overages, or payment discrepancies to the supervisor immediately. Point of Sale Operations: Operate the point-of-sale system efficiently and accurately. Ensure all items, meals, beverages, or services are correctly captured before payment is processed. Maintain knowledge of current menu items, prices, promotions, and hospitality service offerings. Stock and Order Support: Assist with checking customer orders against bills where required. Communicate with waiters, kitchen staff, and supervisors to resolve order or billing issues. Assist with basic stock control duties when required, including monitoring till-area supplies. Hygiene and Workplace Standards: Keep the cashier station clean, organised, and presentable at all times. Comply with workplace hygiene, food safety, and housekeeping standards. Follow company procedures relating to health, safety, and customer service. Administration and Reporting: Complete daily cash-up reports and submit all required documentation to the relevant supervisor. Ensure all invoices, slips, and receipts are correctly filed or handed in according to company procedure. Maintain confidentiality when handling customer and company information. Teamwork and Communication: Work closely with waiters, kitchen staff, management, and other team members to ensure smooth daily operations. Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and colleagues. Assist with additional duties as required by management. Experience & Qualification Grade 12 / Matric. Previous cashier experience within the hospitality, restaurant, hotel, retail, or customer service environment will be advantageous. Experience using a point-of-sale system will be advantageous. Good numerical skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays where required.
