Job Description
Minimum Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
- 2–5 years’ experience within the construction industry.
- Exposure to electrical contracting, automation, or building management systems will be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of procurement, stock control, and project costing principles.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive).
- Sage experience (Accounting, Inventory, or Job Costing modules) will be highly advantageous.
- Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Excellent numerical and analytical ability.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and price Bills of Quantities (BoQs) from project drawings.
- Manage project cost estimates and monitor budgets.
- Identify, prepare, and submit variation orders.
- Compile monthly valuations and progress claims.
- Procurement abd Buying
- Measure and certify subcontractor work where required.
- Conduct project cost reconciliations and profitability analysis.
- Source and procure electrical, automation, and building management system components.
- Generate and manage purchase orders.
- Negotiate pricing, discounts, and supplier agreements.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Monitor supplier lead times to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Stock Control and Logistics
- Ensure materials are purchased according to technical specifications and project requirements.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and stock movement controls.
- Coordinate material deliveries to project sites.
- Reconcile purchase orders, delivery notes, invoices, and goods received documentation.
- Assist with warehouse stock takes and investigate stock variances.
- Monitor high-value inventory and ensure effective stock management practices.
