Temporary Finance Officer | Luxury Nature Reserve | White River
Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Temporary Finance Officer for a luxury nature reserve based in White River. This role is ideal for a finance professional with strong accounting and reconciliation experience who is comfortable working in a structured, high-responsibility environment.

Role Purpose
The Finance Officer will be responsible for the administration and accurate recording of revenue streams, intercompany transactions, VAT administration, fixed asset management, and key month-end accounting processes. The role supports the Finance Manager by ensuring financial records are complete, reconciled, and compliant with statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Manage revenue administration including donations, GCC revenue, and gate revenue reconciliation
Record and maintain donation revenue, issue 18A certificates, and manage donor records
Reconcile GCC revenue and ensure compliance with agreements
Independently review gate revenue, investigate discrepancies, and complete monthly reconciliations
Manage intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and resolution of discrepancies
Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with statutory requirements
Process payroll journals and reconcile payroll accounts
Maintain fixed asset registers, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and reconciliations
Support month-end close processes including reconciliations and supporting schedules
Ensure compliance with authority matrix requirements for all journals and reconciliations
Key Deliverables
Daily recording of donation and GCC revenue transactions
Weekly monitoring of revenue and intercompany records
Monthly preparation of gate revenue reconciliations, payroll journals, VAT schedules, fixed asset register, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end reporting files
Requirements
National Diploma in Accounting/Finance or related field (minimum)
B.Com in Accounting/Finance or equivalent (preferred)
Professional registration (CIMA, ACCA, SAIPA or SAICA) advantageous
23 years minimum experience in finance/accounting
45 years experience preferred in revenue administration, VAT, payroll, and reconciliations
Strong experience with accounting systems such as Sage or similar ERP platforms
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple financial processes within strict deadlines
