About the Role
We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our picturesque country hotel in Tzaneen, Limpopo. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of hotel operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and driving revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day hotel activities, including front desk operations, housekeeping, maintenance, and food and beverage services.
- Host PCOs, STOs, and other valuable clients once per month at the hotel.
- Handle guest complaints and feedback promptly and effectively.
- Prioritize customer satisfaction and drive revenue growth through various channels, including online platforms and partnerships.
- Implement sales and marketing strategies to attract guests and increase bookings.
- Oversee staff management, training, and retention, ensuring compliance with labour laws and regulations.
- Manage property management systems (PMS) software for reservations, guest profiles, billing, and other essential functions.
- Close deals and meet monthly revenue targets, with a minimum of 30% generated at hotel level.
Requirements
- A deep understanding of the hospitality industry, including trends, customer preferences, and best practices.
- Strong operational skills for managing day-to-day hotel activities.
- Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, revenue management, and cost control to ensure hotel profitability.
- Effective leadership skills for inspiring and motivating hotel staff.
- Detailed knowledge of products & services, their quality indicators, and Orion Standards.
- Familiarity with PMS software necessary for managing reservations, guest profiles, billing, and other essential functions.
