Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and inspections on forklifts (diesel, electric, and LPG).
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults on material handling equipment.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce breakdowns and improve equipment reliability.
- Respond to breakdowns and provide on-site technical support when required.
- Test and commission repaired equipment to ensure safe and proper operation.
- Maintain accurate service records, job cards, and maintenance reports.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and equipment regulations.
- Liaise with clients regarding technical issues, repairs, and service requirements.
- Manage tools, parts, and workshop equipment responsibly.
- Support continuous improvement in service efficiency and turnaround times.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Qualified Diesel Mechanic, Auto Electrician, or Forklift Technician Trade Certificate (advantageous).
- 3–5 years’ experience working with forklifts or material handling equipment.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Experience with fault-finding on industrial equipment.
- Valid driver’s licence (Code 8 or higher preferred).
- Willingness to travel to client sites and work standby if required.
