About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team at I Grow Wealth Investments in Cape Town, Western Cape. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality financial services to our clients and contributing to the growth and success of our business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performance appraisal feedback for SAIPA Trainees
  • Assisting with performance improvement plans and poor work performance procedures for non-performing team members
  • Team member workload reviews and assisting with team member planning
  • Team timesheet management on a weekly basis
  • Reviewing and signing off on compilations of annual financial statements prepared by accountants or trainee accountants
  • Supervising and providing guidance to accountants, bookkeepers and trainee accountants on tax and accounting queries
  • Raising adequate review queries on work performed by accountants and trainee accountantsto promote a learning environment
  • Supervising timely submission of all deliverables
  • Compilation of financial statements
  • Monthly processing
  • VAT/EMP recons and submissions
  • SARS appointments and queries
  • Submission of tax returns
  • Provisional tax calculations and submissions
  • Personal income tax calculations and submissions
  • Growing and maintaining client database

Requirements

Relevant Accounting qualification.

Professional registration with SAIPA or SAICA will be advantageous.

Minimum 5 years’ accounting experience within an accounting practice environment.

Strong knowledge of tax compliance, financial statements, and SARS procedures.

Experience supervising and mentoring junior staff and trainees.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Ability to manage deadlines and work independently.

Own reliable transport and a valid drivers license.

Qualifications

Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.) are not required for this position. Relevant qualifications and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
