About the Role
The Junior Buyer role at Fusion Personnel involves sourcing and procuring goods and services, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and obtain quotations from approved suppliers for required goods and services
- Process purchase orders on SAP and ensure timely submission to suppliers
- Follow up on deliveries and communicate any delays or changes with internal stakeholders
- Verify delivered goods against purchase orders and resolve discrepancies with suppliers
- Ensure accurate and complete documentation is submitted for payment processing
- Maintain and update supplier database, including BEE certificates and compliance records
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong supplier relationships
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities within procurement activities
- Prepare regular reports on outstanding orders, supplier performance, and BEE spend
- Support procurement team with price comparisons and analysis of local vs imported goods
- Ensure compliance with company SHEQ policies and procurement procedures
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- 3–5 years’ experience in a buying/procurement role, preferably within manufacturing or engineering environments
- Proven experience in sourcing engineering items, consumables, and hardware
- Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Good understanding of procurement processes and cost control
- Knowledge of BEE requirements and supplier compliance is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
