Key Responsibilities
- Overall management, supervision and leadership of manufacturing team (production foremen, shift leaders, team leaders and operators)
- Development and implementation of production plans and schedules in alignment with production deadlines and customer demand
- Development of labour and machine plan for each production run
- Oversee the entire production process and ensure efficient utilization of resources
- Monitor production progress to ensure daily targets are being met
- Manage and resolve production issues and disruptions, minimizing downtime and ensuring timely delivery
- Ensure minimal rejects, overruns and waste
- Manage production flow (material handling, batch control)
- Preparation of shift sheets and route cards
- Management of budgets and monitoring of production costs, identifying and implementing cost-saving measures
- Ensuring that production cost is within budget as specified in the Bill of Materials
- Implementation and maintenance of quality control procedures throughout the production process
- Analysis of production data, identification of areas for improvement, and continuous implementation of process optimizations
- Preparation of post-production reports as required by management
- Facilitation of routine maintenance and repairs of production equipment and machinery
- Collaboration with other departments to optimize workflows and improve overall plant efficiency
- Management coordination and communication between divisions
- Collaboration with the Operations director to align production goals with overall business objectives
- Reporting of production performance metrics and key issues to management as required
