About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our team, responsible for creating and overseeing electrical system designs that meet our customers’ requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical design, excellent project management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and oversee electrical system designs, including both 3D wiring layouts and 2D schematic drawings
- Develop and manage wiring harness designs using 3D CAD and schematic tools
- Incorporate electrical components into wider system architectures
- Review project scope and control timelines to ensure successful project execution
- Compile and maintain bills of materials along with associated 3D assemblies
- Administer product data within PDM systems such as Teamcenter
- Ensure all designs meet supplier requirements and relevant regulatory standards
- Enhance designs to improve cost efficiency, manufacturability, installation, and maintenance
- Lead and contribute to concept development and design review sessions
- Work closely with suppliers and stakeholders to refine and complete designs
- Evaluate design outputs against customer specifications and engineering standards
Requirements
- 7 years experience in electrical design
- Strong 3D CAD and schematic design experience (NX advantageous)
- Proven experience with wiring harness and electrical system design
- Knowledge of PDM systems (e.g. Teamcenter)
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Qualifications
Minimum BEng / BSc in Electrical Engineering
