About the Role

O’Brien Recruitment is seeking a driven and self-motivated District Branch Manager to lead and manage a sales network within the KZN district. This is a senior operational and people-management role, suited to an individual with strong leadership capability, industry experience, and a results-driven mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Appoint, lead, and manage a team of Sales Managers in line with business requirements
  • Plan and execute marketing strategies aligned to organisational sales objectives
  • Drive performance against agreed recruitment, sales, and retention targets
  • Manage underperformance and implement corrective action plans where required
  • Ensure full compliance with relevant legislation, including FAIS, insurance regulations, and data privacy laws
  • Engage regularly with senior sales leadership to review and report on district performance
  • Support Sales Managers with the establishment and management of private sales facilities
  • Oversee daily business operations and ensure all administrative requirements are met
  • Ensure all sales staff are adequately trained, competent, and authorised to advise clients
  • Manage debt control and negative commission movements
  • Compile and submit weekly operational and performance reports

Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification (essential)
  • Minimum of 4 years proven experience within the Funeral Insurance industry
  • Strong administrative and customer service background
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Minimum typing speed of 25 words per minute
  • RE5 qualification (advantageous)
  • Additional languages will be advantageous
  • Experience within the broader Financial Services sector will be beneficial
