About the Role
Staff Solutions is seeking a driven and detail-focused Junior Software Developer to join our team in the Eastern Cape region. As a junior developer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the design, development, and support of robust software applications, working alongside senior developers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver scalable, dependable, and business-focused solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain software applications in accordance with approved technical and functional requirements.
- Assist with the evaluation, optimisation, and refinement of existing systems.
- Provide input into proposed system enhancements, including effort estimations relating to time and cost.
- Work closely with Senior Developers, Project Managers, Business Analysts, and UX/UI designers to ensure project objectives are clearly defined and achieved.
- Produce structured, maintainable, and efficient code, supported by comprehensive technical documentation.
- Perform unit testing and participate in system testing for new features, system enhancements, and production releases.
- Support implementation processes and provide post-deployment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Compile user guides, system documentation, and training materials where required.
- Develop a strong understanding of operational business processes and financial systems to ensure practical and effective software solutions.
- Ensure that all deliverables prioritise usability, efficiency, performance, and measurable business value.
Requirements
- Strong programming skills in C# MVC web development.
- Proficiency with Razor / CSHTML and JavaScript.
- Experience with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) in C#.
- Knowledge of SQL Server and LINQ.
- Familiarity with Entity Framework, stored procedures, database views, and functions.
- Full-stack development experience (front-end and back-end).
- Understanding of .NET Framework and .NET Core.
- Experience with Blazor.
- API and SDK integrations.
- Proficiency in Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of Telerik UI components.
- Experience with Progressive Web Applications (PWA).
- Familiarity with React and Flutter.
- Strong understanding of software testing and quality assurance practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Relevant work experience as a junior software developer.
- Proficiency in C# and .NET Framework.
