About the Role
The Pro Shop Sales Assistant plays a vital role in driving sales growth and delivering exceptional customer service at our golf club’s pro shop. Reporting directly to the Golf Shop Manager, this position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about providing an outstanding experience for our members and guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervises and assists in the daily operation of the golf shop, including opening and closing procedures
- Maintains optimal customer service levels and continually increases sales
- Ensures the cleanliness and merchandising of the shop, adhering to retail and merchandising managers’ specifications
- Assists with conducting product, sales, and service training for staff
- Attends Golf Shop meetings and provides feedback on operations
- Handles customer complaints and resolves issues whenever possible
- Prepares daily reports and cash-ups as required
- Performs stock counts and administers club rules and regulations
- Promotes the use of golf course facilities to members and guests
- Assists with coordinating and facilitating golf competitions
- Promotes PGA Professional-led golf lessons
- Assists with scoring for member competition days
- Performs repairs (regripping, etc.) when tools are available
- Verifies stock against corresponding invoices upon delivery
- Maintains documentation (invoices, credit notes, return slips, repair slips) in order and hands it over to the Golf Shop Manager daily
