Job Description

Minimum Requirements The successful candidate must meet the following requirements: Matric is required. Aruba networking certification such as ACA, ACSA, ACMA or equivalent is required. Fortinet FortiGate certification such as Fortinet FCP, NSE 4 or equivalent is required. 5 to 8 years experience in enterprise networking and communications infrastructure. 3 to 5 years experience in multi-site infrastructure operations. 3 to 5 years hands-on experience in Aruba switching and wireless administration. 3 to 5 years hands-on experience in FortiGate firewall, VPN and SD-WAN administration. Strong experience in cybersecurity, network segmentation and infrastructure governance. Strong knowledge of FortiGate SD-WAN technologies. Strong knowledge of Aruba CX switching, LAN technologies and Aruba wireless networking. Solid understanding of VLANs, routing, segmentation, access control, VPNs and remote access technologies. Experience with internet redundancy, ISP failover, path selection, network optimisation and troubleshooting. Strong FortiGate firewall administration experience, including FortiOS policy, NAT, VPN and SD-WAN configuration. Experience in firewall rule governance, access reviews, network segmentation and infrastructure hardening. Experience with vulnerability and patch management coordination. Experience using network monitoring, diagnostic and packet analysis tools. Experience in configuration backups, asset management, performance monitoring, reporting and operational documentation. Strong understanding of incident, problem and change management processes. Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work under pressure and support high-availability network services across a multi-site environment. Duties and Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, optimisation, security and continuous improvement of the enterprise network environment, with specific ownership of the Aruba switching and wireless estate and the FortiGate firewall, VPN and SD-WAN environment across multiple business sites. Key responsibilities will include: Managing and supporting the enterprise LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, internet, VPN, firewall, remote access and site-to-site connectivity platforms. Ensuring secure, reliable and scalable network connectivity across both corporate and manufacturing operations. Maintaining high availability across Aruba LAN, switching and wireless services. Administering and supporting FortiGate firewall, SD-WAN and VPN connectivity. Ensuring strong network segmentation between corporate, guest, vendor and operational technology environments. Implementing and supporting approved network changes in line with operational and change management processes. Monitoring network performance, capacity, availability and security posture. Troubleshooting and resolving network incidents, service disruptions and performance issues. Maintaining standard network configurations, templates, documentation, runbooks and operational procedures. Supporting firewall rule reviews, access reviews, vulnerability management and infrastructure hardening activities. Managing configuration backups, network asset records and lifecycle documentation. Supporting disaster recovery readiness and business continuity planning for network services. Working with suppliers, ISPs and service providers to manage incidents, escalations, service performance and SLA-related matters. Supporting infrastructure modernisation projects and network improvement initiatives. Providing operational reporting on network availability, incidents, risks, capacity, performance and continuous improvement activities. Contributing to the continuous improvement of Aruba and Fortinet operational maturity. Ensuring alignment with business requirements, cybersecurity standards, compliance expectations and digital transformation objectives.
