About the Role
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Africa Travel Specialist for a luxury property group based in Johannesburg. This role is ideal for a highly skilled travel professional who excels in curating bespoke itineraries across Southern and East Africa while driving strong sales performance and exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and sell tailor-made luxury itineraries across Southern and East Africa
• Convert enquiries into confirmed bookings through proactive sales engagement
• Upsell and cross-sell luxury lodges, experiences, and travel products
• Manage full booking lifecycle from enquiry to post-travel follow-up
• Ensure accurate CRM and reservation system management
• Maintain strong relationships with high-value clients and trade partners
• Achieve monthly and annual sales and revenue targets
• Track and report on sales performance and conversion metrics
• Ensure timely payment collection and financial reconciliation of bookings
• Handle guest queries and complaints professionally and efficiently
Requirements
Minimum 8 years’ experience in a travel specialist or tour operator role
Strong proven sales track record within luxury travel or hospitality
In-depth knowledge of Southern and East Africa destinations and properties
Grade 12 essential; Tourism/Hospitality qualification advantageous
Proficiency in MS Office, Tourplan, and ResRequest essential
Strong commercial acumen with ability to meet and exceed sales targets
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
High attention to detail with strong administrative ability
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
Proactive, self-disciplined, and solutions-focused mindset
