About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and compassionate Charge Sister to join our team in Pretoria, where you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our nursing staff and caregivers. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care and resident wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of nursing staff and caregivers
- Ensure high standards of patient care and resident wellbeing are maintained
- Administer medication and oversee treatment plans where required
- Monitor residents’ health conditions and respond to medical emergencies
- Assist with staff scheduling, handovers, and shift coordination
- Maintain accurate patient records and nursing documentation
- Support and guide junior nursing staff and caregivers
- Liaise with doctors, families, and multidisciplinary teams regarding resident care
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, infection control, and facility procedures
Requirements
- Registered Nurse qualification with valid SANC registration
- Previous experience in a supervisory or Charge Nurse role
- Experience within aged care, frail care, or a retirement estate environment advantageous
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Compassionate and professional approach to elderly care
