About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and compassionate Charge Sister to join our team in Pretoria, where you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our nursing staff and caregivers. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care and resident wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of nursing staff and caregivers
  • Ensure high standards of patient care and resident wellbeing are maintained
  • Administer medication and oversee treatment plans where required
  • Monitor residents’ health conditions and respond to medical emergencies
  • Assist with staff scheduling, handovers, and shift coordination
  • Maintain accurate patient records and nursing documentation
  • Support and guide junior nursing staff and caregivers
  • Liaise with doctors, families, and multidisciplinary teams regarding resident care
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, infection control, and facility procedures

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse qualification with valid SANC registration
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or Charge Nurse role
  • Experience within aged care, frail care, or a retirement estate environment advantageous
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Fluent in Afrikaans and English
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Compassionate and professional approach to elderly care
