About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and eager-to-learn Junior Field Guide to join our team at a pristine wilderness area, offering an authentic and immersive bush experience. As a Junior Field Guide, you will be responsible for assisting senior guides with daily game drives and bush walks, while also engaging with guests and providing exceptional hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with conducting daily game drives and bush walks under the guidance of senior guides
- Engage with guests, sharing knowledge of wildlife, nature, and the surrounding environment
- Ensure guest safety and comfort at all times during activities
- Support with vehicle checks, maintenance, and guiding equipment upkeep
- Assist with tracking wildlife and contributing to sightings records
- Provide support with lodge operations when required, including guest hosting
- Uphold lodge standards and contribute to a high-quality guest experience
Requirements
- FGASA Level 1 (NQF2)
- Valid First Aid PDP
- Valid driver’s licence
- DEAT NDT registration
- Advanced 4×4 driving course qualification
- Highly presentable and well-spoken
- Guest relations skills and confidence when hosting
- Sober habits
