About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for a hands-on Financial Accountant to join the Mozambique entity of a growing international business. This role is ideal for a bilingual finance professional who enjoys operating within a fast-paced, operational environment while partnering closely with the South African head office.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full financial accounting function for the Mozambique entity
- Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting packs for the South African head office
- Perform reconciliations, journals, and month-end reporting processes
- Ensure VAT, tax, and statutory compliance requirements are met
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Monitor cash flow, treasury, and working capital management
- Ensure financial controls, compliance, and reporting accuracy across the entity
- Take ownership of important financial, statutory, and compliance-related paperwork
- Ensure all critical financial records and regulatory documentation are accurately maintained and submitted timeously
- Support process improvements and finance operational efficiencies
- Work closely with operational teams to support business performance and reporting needs
- Assist in managing and guiding junior finance staff on-site
Requirements
Education: BCom Accounting / Finance or related qualification
Experience: 3–5 years’ experience within a financial accounting role
Experience within multinational or cross-border environments advantageous
Strong exposure to financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance essential
Exposure to tax, VAT, treasury, and operational finance functions advantageous
Salary & Benefits
CTC (Mozambican Meticals): MZN 100 000 – 150 000 per month
