Job Description
This role involves full project lifecycle participation, from conceptual design and detailed engineering through procurement, commissioning, and handover. Similar industry roles typically include responsibilities such as panel design, instrumentation specification, PLC/DCS integration, FAT/SAT testing, commissioning, and multidisciplinary coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead ECI engineering activities for mining, mineral processing, industrial, or infrastructure projects
- Design and review:
- MCCs, PLC panels, RIO panels, and control systems
- Single-line diagrams and electrical layouts
- Instrumentation specifications and loop diagrams
- Develop and review control philosophies and automation strategies
- Manage procurement of ECI equipment and vendor interactions
- Conduct FATs, SATs, and commissioning activities
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and client specifications
- Coordinate with process, mechanical, civil, and construction teams
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership
- Prepare technical reports, BOQs, and engineering documentation
- Support project planning, budgeting, and scheduling
Minimum Requirements
- BEng/BSc/BTech in Electrical, Control, or Instrumentation Engineering
- Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in ECI engineering environments
- Strong knowledge of:
- PLC/DCS/SCADA systems
- Electrical power distribution
- Instrumentation and process control
- Industrial communication networks
- Experience in EPC/EPCM projects advantageous
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, EPLAN, ETAP, or similar software
- Strong commissioning and troubleshooting experience
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
Preferred Experience
- Mining and mineral processing projects
- Water treatment or industrial plant environments
- Siemens, ABB, Schneider, or Allen-Bradley systems
- Site supervision and contractor management
- Process plant commissioning
