Job Description
While you will be based at our Durban office, you must be willing and able to travel to project sites anywhere in South Africa as required. The company will cover all associated business travel and accommodation costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, must be a Civil Engineer designer, planning, and management of civil engineering projects (e.g., roads, stormwater, earthworks, water reticulation, sewer infrastructure, etc).
- Take full technical ownership of projects, ensuring designs are innovative, cost-effective, and compliant with South African regulations and standards (SANS, etc.).
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
- Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, tender documents, and contract documentation.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior and intermediate engineers and technologists within the team.
- Conduct site inspections and monitor construction progress to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
- Ensure all work complies with the highest health, safety, and environmental standards.
Minimum Requirements (Non-Negotiable):
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSc Eng) or Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or B-Tech in Civil Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of post-graduate experience in civil engineering.
- Professional Registration:
- Must be registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) OR a Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr Tech Eng) .
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of post-professional registration experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in industry-standard civil engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Prokon, or similar).
- Willingness to Travel: Must be willing and available to travel to project sites across South Africa for short-term or long-term assignments as required by project needs. (Company will cover all expenses).

- A valid South African driver’s license is essential.
