About the Role

The Faculty of Education seeks an accomplished academic to join our Early Childhood Care Education Department as a Professor or Associate Professor. The appointment will be made at the level of Professor/Associate Professor depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate. This is a rare opportunity to lead, innovate and inspire the next generation of Academics and Researchers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Module Leader in the teaching of Early Childhood Care Education
  • Bring expertise in at least one other area of our undergraduate programme (Early Childhood development: Introduction to Grade R, Pedagogy of Life Skills Education and Foundations of Theories)
  • Contribute actively to the strategic plan of the Faculty and the University, playing a key role in driving innovation in teaching, curriculum development, research, internationalization and community engagement

Requirements

  • Doctoral Degree in relevant discipline within the faculty
  • At least 9 years experience in higher education
  • Extensive undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research experience
  • A track record of international and national accredited research publications commensurate with the academic rank of Professor
  • Postgraduate supervision experience including successful Doctoral supervision commensurate with the academic rank of Professor
  • Evidence of successful national and international fundraising for research
  • Recognition as an established scholar in a chosen area of research (e.g., NRF rating, international keynote addresses/plenary lectures)
